DAM Lingo

SDTAGW- Some DAM things always go wrong. So be prepared

RAM – Reckless Audience Member refusing to shut up during certain speeches.

RAW – WAR. Yes it is a palindrome for when two DAMers butt heads.

RGB – Really good Breakfast, makes the morning session that much better.

USB – Unmanned speaker on board (quick get a DAMer at his/her side to take care of his/her ever need)

Red-Eye – The color of the eyes of fellow DAM’ers working through nights to get things done/ Red Eye is also the same color sported by the DAM head when things don’t get done.

Dodging - This is what a good DAMer does when the DAM head starts having the Red Eye syndrome.

Megabyte – The bigger the speaker… the more mega his bytes.

Ambient light – The glow that surrounds every speaker as they take to the stage. And no it is not some super secret lighting effect that only DAMers know about… or maybe it is… you will never know till you get there.

Burning – The passion of every DAMer… the passion for everything DAM.

And now...presenting...

DAM 2010-

Staying true to the binary digits in this year, we at DAM 2010 have decided to go that extra mile and include all digital media this time. This year isn’t just going to be about digi-movies and animations. We are going beyond the 70mm moving pictures zone to television, music and even gaming.

VF(ilm)X - Visual Effects decoded

To begin with we have the entire low-down on special effects covered this year. When the industry has embraced the VFX revolution, why should we be far behind?

Toon-i-mation – ‘The craft of getting pictures to talk’

This is all about getting the people behind the toons to talk about the industry, where it is headed and what more can we expect.

Digitalisation-A Downfall? - Reviving Talent v/s killing art

‘To digital’ or ‘Not to digital’ is the question here.

Digi-Telezation - The scope of Digital Television

A look at how television today is getting digitised and taking it to the next level of entertainment.

Gaming - Child's play or strategic v/s tool?

PSP, CS, NFS, sound familiar to you…enter our gaming console where we bring you the brains behind the cutthroat gaming industry and what’s in store ahead.

Digital Music - The dynamics of Digital audiography

Dig into the digital music scene as we go all digital gaga over the digi-revolution in music

Welcome!

The DigitAll Movement was first held in 2008. The DigitAll Movement, conceptualized and organized by SIMC, with the audiovisual trainees in the forefront is SIMC’s tribute to the digital medium. Ever year more than 2500 students are invited to be a part of Digital Movement on the new 300-acre campus of Symbiosis International University, to participate in workshops, seminars, competitions and sundown activities. The event gives a platform for anyone with a creative aptitude and minimal knowledge of technology to express their ideas effectively. In the past two years, our students have interacted with big names from the film (mainstream and documentary) and animation industry in India.

DAM 2010 will be the biggest SIMC has seen so far. We hope you are just as excited about this event as we are!
